The train tracks through Greene County will be a bit busier for the next few days.
Greene County emergency management director Dennis Morlan was notified Thursday afternoon that due to flooding in south central Iowa, Amtrak is rerouting Train 6(23), the California Zephyr that runs from Omaha, NE, thru Burlington, with stops in Creston, Osceola and Ottumwa.
The reroute will be over the Union Pacific route from Omaha thru Clinton, going through Greene County, as well as Pottawattamie, Harrison, Crawford, Carroll, Boone, Story, Marshall, Tama, Benton, Linn, Cedar and Clinton Counties.
